What's happening at the Whitman County Library

Monday, Jan. 14

Garfield – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Teen Crayon Melt Art - Make beautiful creations with crayons, hot glue, canvas and a hairdryer. Colfax – 6:30 pm – Belly Dance - Gypsy Spirit Belly Dance offers free classes every Monday.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

Farmington, Palouse & Rosalia - Storytime - Fun stories, finger plays, rhymes, songs and crafts every Tuesday. Check the calendar for times and themes. Colfax – 4 p.m. – Board of Trustees Meeting – Open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

St. John & Uniontown - After School Program – Exciting after school programs in two locations. Check the calendar for times and themes. Tekoa – Noon to 2 p.m. – Wii Gaming – Kids are invited to play Wii games at the library.

Thursday, Jan. 17

Colfax, Colton, LaCrosse, Farmington & Tekoa – 3rd Thursday Clubs – Exciting after school programs in five locations. Check the calendar for times and themes.

Friday, Jan 18

Colfax & Tekoa – 10 to 11:30 a.m. – Play & Learn – Creative play and sharing for preschoolers and parents every Friday.

Sunday, Jan 20

All branches closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday, Jan 21

All branches closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Tuesday, Jan 22

Malden – 1-3 p.m.- Knit Wits – A needle craft group that meets every Tuesday. Comprised of every level from beginner to advanced in crochet and knitting. Contact Branch Manager, Shannon at (509) 569-3771 for more information and location.

Palouse – 3:45 p.m. – Chess Club – Learn and share the art and skill of chess playing.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

Oakesdale & Malden – Storytime - Fun stories, finger plays, rhymes, songs and crafts every Wednesday. Check the calendar for times and themes.

Garfield – 4 to 5:30 p.m. – After School Science with Celery - Can you change the color of celery? How about the flavor? Come learn the answers to these questions with fun, hands on experiments.

Thursday, Jan. 24

Albion – 4 p.m. – After School Craft – Kids are invited to a fun after school craft project.
