Savvy Saving Seniors is coming to the Colfax Library on Friday, October 26 at 2 p.m. presented by Babs Pfaff from Bank of America. Photographer Aaron Cowan visits the Colfax Library on Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m. as part of Meet the Artist. View Aaron’s photography at www.aaroncowanphotos.com. Meet the Artist is free and open to the public and co-sponsored by the Colfax Arts Council and the Friends of Whitman County Library.
International Games Day @ your library is coming to the Colfax Library on Saturday, November 3 from 2-4 p.m. Invite your friends and family members for a day of games suitable for all ages.
Latin Fitness Classes are being offered in the Center (former Hamilton building operated by the library). Classes run through December 19 every Monday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. for $35 a month or $7 for drop-ins. For more information, contact Diana at (509) 432-4906.
Each Thursday, Colfax preschoolers focus on learning the alphabet from A-Z. Help your child get a jump on reading and school readiness by bringing them to Baby Time at 10:10 a.m., Toddler Time at 10:30 a.m. and Preschool Time at 11 a.m. The learning and socialization continues with Playgroup each Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. This program is less formal setting designed for all young children and their parents, grandparents or care providers.
Reader’s Guides have arrived for “Border Songs” by Jim Lynch. Stop in any Whitman County Library branch to pick up your copy in preparation for the author appearance on Monday, November 12 at noon. Nook Simple Touches are now available for checkout at the Colfax Library through a grant program called eREADS in eWA. Whitman County along with 5 other library districts will offer the devices with preloaded titles in popular genres like Mystery, Romance, Bestsellers and more. The Nooks will then rotate through these libraries every two months, eventually giving patrons access to all of the titles.
