Voter forum coming to Colfax Library

To assist local voters, a ballot issues debate will be held on Tuesday, October 15, from 7 - 9 pm at the Colfax Branch of Whitman County Library. This forum is sponsored by the Pullman League of Women Voters, The Whitman County Gazette and Whitman County Library.

During this forum, Initiatives 522 and 517 will be debated with panel members taking questions from the audience. Initiative 522 concerns the labeling of genetically-engineered foods. Initiative 517 establishes protections for citizens who participate in the initiative and referendum process. Information on the Advisory votes for increasing taxes will also be available at the forum.

An additional forum will be held on Wednesday, October 16 from 7-9 p.m. in the Pullman City Council Chambers at Pullman City Hall. The Pullman forum will feature the city council candidates in the three contested races but all candidates will be present to answer questions from the audience.
