Senior Fitness class comes to Colfax Library
Nancy Stanard, longtime dance and exercise instructor and former owner of Nancy School of Dance in Colfax is starting a new exercise class for seniors at the Colfax Library. “Senior Fit & Fun” and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. The class will include a warm-up, a low impact aerobic workout suitable for seniors and a cool down. Cost is $5.00 per class however you are invited to try your first class for free.
Studies show that seniors who exercise see an improvement in fitness and balance. Even more surprising is that exercise also has a positive effect on brain fitness, improving memory and cognitive performance. Ms. Stanard operated her dance studio for 39 years, teaching classes in tap, jazz, ballet, and tumbling, along with Zumba fitness classes for adults. The library is excited to bring Ms. Standard out of retirement for what may be the first of other classes.
