IRS Tax forms update

We have finally received the Form 1040 instruction booklets. We now have the major forms and instructions. Specific forms that we do not have can be accessed from the IRS website.

We have received the Form 1040 EX, the Instructions for 1040 EX and Publication 334 which is the Tax Guide for Small Business. We have received the Form 1040-A and Form 1040-A instructions.  We have not yet received Form 1040 or the instructions.  A tax form display is located by the stairs leading downstairs to the Norma McGregor meeting room. As we receive more tax products they will be stocked on the table. We do not offer tax advice You can go directly to the IRS website at www.irs.gov to research, download and print forms and publications.

W will keep you updated as more of the popular tax products arrive. The production of some 2012 tax products, including the Form 1040 and the Instructions for Form 1040, has been affected by the recent passage of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. The Internal Revenue Service does not know when these products will become available to Whitman County Library or from the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov. Information about this delay can be found at

Once the forms are available, the library system expects to distribute basic forms from the Colfax Branch as they have in years past. For more information, call the library at 877-733-3375 or the IRS toll free phone number at 800-829-3676.
