Whitman County Library offers Wii® programs

Photo of Penny Taylor and her daughters Paige and Amanda playing Wii Sports during a recent program in AlbionTo counter the trends of childhood obesity and sedentary lifestyles, Whitman County Library is integrating the Wii Sports Fitness software into many of its regular children's programs. The Wii Sports program can increase cardiovascular endurance, improve reaction time, increase agility and motor skills, improve balance, weight transfer, sensory and range of motion. Most importantly, library officials hope the Wii programs will get area children moving while having a good time.

Whitman County Library will host free Wii Sports programs at the Endicott School multi-purpose room on Thursday, January 21 from 3:20-4:20, in the Colfax Library behind US Bank on Wednesday, January 27 from 2:30-4 and in the Lacrosse Library on Monday, February 8 at 3:15.

For more information or to schedule a local Wii program, contact Nichole or Sheri in the Youth Services Department of Whitman County Library at 509-397-4366 or toll-free at 877-733-3375.
