Play Group at the Whitman County Library in Colfax

Are you looking for something to do with your kids on Friday mornings? The Whitman County Library and Child Care Resource and Referral invite you to a free playgroup in Colfax from 10:00-11:30 am each Friday.

There are many pros of playgroup gatherings. Here are a few reasons why you should attend a playgroup:

Playgroup Benefit #1: Your child will have opportunities to learn to share. This is particularly a great benefit for children without any siblings.

Playgroup Benefit #2: Your child will learn basic social skills. Research has shown that children, who attend programs such as playgroups, develop essential social-emotional skills. These skills form the foundation that allows traditional school skills, such as literacy to develop. It offers times for parallel play (where they play side to side) and eventually interactive play.

Playgroup Benefit #3: Your child's vocabulary will grow. The best way for toddlers to learn new words is to interact with others. Playgroups are the perfect opportunity for your little one's vocabulary to be enhanced.

Playgroup Benefit #4: You will be able to network with other parents/caregivers. It is a great time to get out of the house and socialize with others in your community.
